Coober Pedy, South Australia
Welcome
Janet’s Underground Bowen Therapy offers gentle Bowen therapy in Coober Pedy, South Australia. Janet has trained for eight years and holds an Advanced Diploma of Bowen Therapy. Bowen therapy works with the whole body to ease pain and restore movement, without deep pressure or forceful adjustment.
Pain wears you down
You’ve tried different things. Maybe medication, maybe physio, maybe just pushing through. And yet the same ache keeps showing up. If you’re tired of managing the problem without ever quite resolving it, Bowen therapy offers a different approach.
Some days it’s your shoulder. Other days it’s your sleep, or a heaviness you can’t quite explain. You just want to feel like yourself again.
A different way of working
Janet doesn’t rush, and she doesn’t start with your sore spot. She works with your whole body first, giving it time to settle before asking anything of the part that’s actually giving you grief. It’s a gentler way in, and it tends to get further.
Janet has trained in Bowen therapy for eight years, holding an Advanced Diploma of Bowen Therapy along with Specialised Bowen Levels 1 and 2.
Three simple steps
1. Book your first session
Call Janet to arrange your initial consultation, including a chat about your history and your first treatment.
2. Let your body respond
Follow Janet’s guidance on hydration and aftercare. Your body keeps adjusting for seven to ten days.
3. Return and build on it
Come back around a week later. Most people work through three sessions, then move to occasional maintenance visits.
What people notice
Many people notice their pain easing and their movement returning over the course of a few sessions. Sleep often settles as the body lets go of tension it’s been holding. Some feel lighter, especially those carrying stress or grief in their body. Over time, many people find they rely less on painkillers and feel more in control of their own wellbeing.
More than a therapy room
Janet’s approach to Bowen therapy is shaped by years spent working in natural resource management. She sees the body the way she sees a landscape: as a connected whole, not a set of parts to fix one at a time.

When the pain isn’t physical
For a long time, most of the people I saw came in with something straightforward. A rolled ankle. A stiff shoulder. A bruise from a fall. In the last few years, that’s shifted. More and more, what brings someone in

It’s not massage. So what is it?
People ask me this a lot, usually right before their first session. Fair enough. Bowen therapy is hard to explain until you’ve felt it. Here’s what I tell people. It’s a series of very gentle moves, done in specific spots

Why I do this work
For years before I ever trained in Bowen therapy, I was out in the bush. Weed control, feral animal management, land condition monitoring. That work taught me something I carry into every Bowen session I do now: nothing in a
